PIONEERS OF OLD FREDERICK Co, VA by Cecil O'Dell "In 1765, George Wright Sr. sold 409 acres to his son, George Wright Jr. This tract is located on Stephens Run approximately 1 1/4 miles south of the 615 acre tract. Frederick County Highway 640 runs along theeast line of the property. George and Susannah had at least one otherson, Jacob, who was mentioned in Frederick County Records."

1774 -Charleston Miscellaneous Wills, Volume 1774-1779, pp.193-194: DAR Patriot Index. -May 14, wrote will "In the Name of God Amen. The 14th day of May 1774. I George Wright of South Carolina 96 District being very Sick and Weak in body but of perfect Mind and Memory, thanks be given unto God therefore Calling unto mind the Mortallity of my body and knowing that it is appointed forall Men once to die, do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say Principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth, and touching such Worldly Estate Wherewith it hath pleased God to blefs me in this Life, I give, demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. ---- I give to my well beloved daughter Maryann Wright the Gristmill and Sawmill. I give to my well beloved daughter Sarah Wright the Still and a Tract of Land Containing 150 Acres Joining Eanis Slimson's land; I give to my well beloved daughter Susannah Wright a Tract of land in VA lying on Stevenson's run in Frederick County I give to my well beloved son George Wright that Tract of Land I now live on Containing 150 Acres I likewise give unto my son George the Tract of Land James Kilpatrick once owned; and asTouching and Concerning my dearly beloved Wife Sarah Wright, Whome I Constitute, make 8 Ordain my Executor and I likewise make and Ordain Jacob Bowman an Afsistant Executor of this my last Will and Testament, and it is my Will and desire that my dearly beloved Wife Sarah Wright should have her living turn over off of the Tract of Land I now live on and off of the Tract of Land I bought from James Kilpatrick and it is my Will and desire that my Wife should have the benefit of the Labour & increase of all my Negroes as long as She liveth in this life g after her decease that all the Negroes and increase should be equally divided among all my Children and as touching any other of my moveables if any thing remaining after all my Lawful debts are paid that every one of my Children might have their equal part and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments, Wills, Legacies and bequests and Executors by me in any ways before Named, Willed 8 Bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this, and no other to be my last Will and Testament in Witnefs whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day and Year above written. /s/ George Wright (L: S:) Signed Sealed Published pronounced and declared by the said George Wright as his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Subscribers ......
