"My grandfather, George, was the last of the Wardwell clan to live on a farm next to the big gully near Union Springs which had been in the family since 1798. There is a cemetery on this farm which was sold by George in 1928 with a right of way reserved to the cemetery which is some 600 yards from the nearest road." -Kenneth W. Anthony
