A SUIT FOR DAMAGES A Manasquan Couple Want $10,000 from Two Doctors George Clayton and wife of Manasquan have brought suit for $10,000 damages against Dr. R. W. Herbert and Dr. George Tunis of that place. The suit is the outgrowth of the recent smallpox cases at Manasquan. Mrs. George Townsend and her daughter were taken sick last June and Mrs. Clayton was engages as nurse. She claims that she took the position upon the assurance of both Dr. Herbert and Dr. Tunis that there was no danger from the disease with which the patients were suffering. Mrs. Townsend died, but her daughter recovered. It afterward transpired that both Mrs. Townsend and her daughter had smallpox in a virulent form. Mrs. Clayton contracted the disease and the damage suit against the doctors is the outcome of it. There is said to have been a clash among the doctors during the smallpox scare at Manasquan and some interesting developments are expected at the coming trial.
