Thursday, May 25, 2000 George R. Tullis CHETOPA -- George R. Tullis, 88, of Chetopa, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at the Chetopa Manor after an illness.

He was born Oct. 18, 1911, in rural Jasper County, Mo., to Frank Arthur and Margaret McClean Tullis.

He married Betty Kemmerer on Nov. 25, 1939, at Yates Center. She survives of the home.

Mr. Tullis graduated from Labette County High School at Altamont in 1930. He worked as an farmer and was Methodist by faith.

Additional survivors include two sons, Donald Tullis and Billy Tullis of Chetopa; two sisters, Jean Chestnut of Chetopa and Lottie Mae Apperson of Welch, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Tullis.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2000, at the Lake Creek Cemetery in Bartlett with the Rev. Dean Knutesen officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Creek Cemetery in Bartlett. Arrangements are under the direction of the Murdock Funeral Home at Oswego.
