OBITUARY (from Bob Miller of Putnam CT, through Linda Stetson):

George T. Seaver (Middle initial F. is on tombstone)

George T. Seaver, one of the oldest residents of the town of Thompson, died at his home in Grosvenordale Wednesday morning, aged 88 years. He had been ill about six weeks. Old age and a general breakdown was the cause of death.

Mr. Seaver was born in the town of Woodstock. When 17 years of age he removed to Grosvenordale where he has lived ever since. When the Civil War broke out he enlisted in Company D., 18th Connecticut, and served his country for three years. For fifty years he has been employed by the Grosvenordale Company, for 20 years as overseer of the weaving department.

Mr. Seaver was twice married. His first wife, Harriett Harrington, died in 1865. Two children were born of this union, Everett C. of Rockdale, MA and W. Scott Seaver of Worcester. There were also two grandchildren.

Mr. Seaver's second marriage was in January, 1866, when Annie M. Woodward became his wife. They had one child, Clarence A. Seaver, who has always lived at home. Mr. Seaver was a well known and highly respected citizen of the town.

Funeral services will be held from the home, Friday at 1:30 o'clock.
