Ashe Co. Family Historical Records William Thomas Colvard & Descendants, he was the oldest son of Neil R & Sallie Colvard, b. Aug 18, 1852 to d. March 1927 m. Rosa Etta Ray, the daughter of George Washington & Mary Ann Dickson Ray granddaughter of Sibyl Colvard (b. 3-21-1803) & John Dickson great granddaughter of Col. Jessie Ray who had been given a grant of 17,000 acres in Wilkes Co. part of which later became Ashe Co. William Thomas & Rosa Etta Ray had 4 children Anna Colvard


If the above is true then George Washington RAY's father must be one of Jesse RAY's sons. </b>
