After his marriage to Mary ERNO they tried farming for awhile but lost their crops one year and moved to town (Bay City). George went out West to work the harvest because jobs were scarce and also worked on a scow in British Columbia. His son Roy was one year old at that time. He then returned to Bay City and worked for Jennison Hardware before going to work at the Alladin Company where he worked for forty years.
