    "GEORGE G. Ostrander - George 0. Ostrander, 59, of Rt. 2, Ionia, diedMonday at 2:20 A.M. in the University of Michigan hospital, Ann Arbor,where he had been a patient for several weeks. He had submitted. to amajor operation December 30. His death occurred just three weeks afterthat of his wife. who died December 20 at the Ionia County Memorialhospital. Mr. Ostrander: was born September 4, 1884, In Ionia countywhere he had been a life-long resident. For many years the couple hadresided on their farm in Ionia township but for nearly three years theyhad lived on the Minty farm. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fred D.Smith. of Flint; also LaVern A. DeForest, S2/C, with the U. S. navalSeabeas In the south Pacific area: a brother S. S. 0strander of Ionia:two sisters, Mrs Claude Furnish of Morrice and Mrs Bert Morgan of Ionia.A daughter, Frances, was fatally injured in an automobile accidentDecember 26, 1940. The body was taken to the Stone funeral home andfuneral arrangements will be announced later."
