The Myers family mingled with the Shanklands in many ways. According to various sources, George and wife Margaret had 15 children: Christena m. Wm. Peyton; Sally 1790- m. Humphrey Smart 1785-1869; Abraham 1786- m. Nancy Daugherty; Daniel C. 1789-1878 m. Eleanor Lockridge; Lewis 1790- m. Rosannah Ishmael; Benjamin 1798-1875 m1? Patsy Frazier, m2? Harriet Parsons; and Jacob 1803-1877 m. Priscilla Adams. Some sources show George as 'killed by a bar'.
