Facts and Events
[edit] About Adam MohlerAdam received a land grant of 297 acres from Lord Fairfax on 17 April 1762 in Frederick county, Virginia (now Jefferson, West Virginia). On 30 October 1773 a survey was made (p235) for 50 acres for Ad am Moser on the South Branch of the Potomac adjoining Shelton. Adams will was written on 9 November 1783 and entered into probate on 18 November 1783. His estate was appraised on 23 & 24 February 1784. Dr. John E. Moler wrote in his diary (1837-1843) that three brothers came from Germany, Gessens un Hol------ (writing difficult to read) long before the Revolutionary War. They settled awhile in the State of New Jersey. They removed from New Jersey to Pennsylvania near Harrisburg. They were all three married men. This information he obtained from his Uncle Jacob Moler, who was the son of Jacob, the son of Adam, Sr. According to "Ships Passenger Lists" by Boyer, George Adam came to America (with Ludwig) on the ship "Thistle of Glasgow" to the port of Philadelphia on 29 August 1730. This would have made it virtually impossible for Adam to have been a married man. Boyer received his information from a descendent of the Moler family. The "History of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania" by Ellis and Eva ns states, on page 833, that Ludwig had three sons, one being George of whom they have no record. Some of the histories and /or biographies get familes a little confused, especially when the information is given 100 to 200 years later. George Adam Oler appears on the rent roll for Frederick, Va in 1764. In 1776 George Adam Oller is on the Berkeley, Va rent rolls. In 1770 Adam Ault named Adam Moler as one of his executors while Adam "Owler" relinquished the appointment.Reference Number:+203861
