    Bio: He was the father of Daniel and John McCook. They and their families comprised "The Fighting McCooks" during the Civil War.

    George was member of ""the Fighting McCooks", an Ohio family that had 17 members fight for the Union during the Civil War as soldiers, sailors, chaplains and doctors. Though some over age 65 when the Civil War began join & fought swore to fight to the "Bloody End" then surrender then ones that, survived.
