BURLINGTON — Mr. George Robert Lea, 87, of 37 Vinson Road, died at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at his home after two months of declining health, two days critical.

He was the husband of the late Debbie Thompson Lea and the son of Robert Pink Lea and Eliza Margaret Hughes Lea, both deceased. He was retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation and was a member of the Southern Caswell Ruritan Club.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs.. Eleanor Sue Waller and Ms. Minnie Roe Roach, both of Burlington.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Wallis Smith and the Rev. Paul Stennett. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 5 to 7:30 this evening, and at other times at the home.
