George KNIGHT was born on 13 Sep 1771. He signed a will on 8 Sep 1839 in Scituate, Providence Co., RI. The will was proved on 16 Nov 1839. The will mentions wife March Knight, sons Daniel Knight and Lyman Knight, and grandson George M. Knight (under 21). On 2 Nov 1839, the heirs at law were Mercy Knight, William W. Knight, Lyman S. Knight, Penelope W. Taylor, Betsey Matteson, Thusah [?] Knight. He died on 26 Sep 1839. He resided in Scituate, Providence Co., RI. He was married to Mercy STONE before 1796.

  Mercy, sixth child of Jeremiah and Dinah, was born in Scituate in 1775, November 29. She married George Knight, of that town. George was a brother of Darius, who married Mercy's sister, Hannah. He was a well-to-do farmer. Both were living in 1866. They had six children, viz.: William Warren, born 1796, who married Elizabeth Colvin; Penelope Wescott, born in 1993, who married S. P. Taylor: Betsy, born in 1802, who married Welcome Matteson; Daniel Richmond, born 1805, August 15, died 1877, April 27. He married, first, Susan Colvin, of Scituate, daughter of Joseph. She died 1858, July 2. He married, second, Ruth E. Johnson, of Exeter. In 1814, Daniel removed from Scituate to Exeter, where he died. He was for many years an elder of the "Six Principle" Baptist Church.
