Facts and Events
His wife Jane wrote to Oscar Burton Robbins for inclusion in his book {page 259): "Beorge was at the time of his death one of the most prominent Dentists in Europe, and he stayed I suppose, the longest in Berlin during two crises. Once after the last War when he failed to get out in time he was actually caught there and had to make daily reports to the local police as a foreigner. He had however, as a patient the Reichs Kransler (Rice Councelor) Von Behtman Helwig who extended him every courtesy and took personal responsibility for George as a foreigner. "George did actually excape to Hook of Holland and got to america, and spent two years here until the war was over. "Returning he had no alternative but to go on with his practice, as he had sunk every thing he had and borrowed money, into the thing. It certainly prospered but in inflation he lost $10,000.00. "While he made a great deal of money he had to share the dangers of our time: and during the Nazi Period times grew hard as often had to accept things instead of money." References
