From J. D. Hysler's site: "George was a soldier in the Confederate Army He died in the army field hospital from wounds received in battle."

From Grady Langley: "Edward's brother George, was supposedly George Washington Jackson. One researcher has his birth as March 24, 1843, Gwinnett Co., GA. George was wounded at Crampton Pass during the Civil War, and died in the US Army hospital Oct. 16, 1862 at Burkettsville, MD. This according to Elizabeth (Betty) Barbour, a Jackson descendant. According to researcher Robert Emmett Langley, Sr, George may have never married.
