On the above 1880 census George, wife Lucinda (and son George C.) are next hh to their son, Martin and his family who are next hh to George and Lucinda's daughter Lydia Ann Jackson Whaley and her husband Jessie Whaley. View image: [1]

How George went from being a Carpenter in 1860 to being a 'Doctor of Medicine' in 1880 I don't know but their being all together here leads me to believe this is all the same family. So far, the 1870 census for George and Lucinda has not been found.
