George Campbell Gray

Facts and Events
“George Campbell Gray, eldest son of Samuel and Mary Gray was born June 8, 1861. He died Feb. 26, 1951 at his home southeast of Albia at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 21 days.
He lived his entire life in the same community.
Mr. Gray married Sara Adda Byers on Feb. 18, 1891. Their 60th wedding anniversary was celebrated 9 days before his death on the same far where they began their married life.
They became parents of eight children, Thomas, Gladys, Bessie, Russell, Mary, Wilma, Eugene, and Harold. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas and Russell, and two daughters, Bessie Baayen and Wilma Moore.
Surviving are his wife, four children, 12 grandchildren, and four brothers and sisters, Adam, Dr. John of Melcher, Sue and Cora.
Mr. Gray was a member of the Service United Presbyterian Church.”
