George Fullinger was baptised on 30th April 1843 at Sidlesham in Sussex, son of a laundress named Elizabeth Fullinger and her husband William Fullinger, a labourer. George appears in the 1851 census living with his parents and siblings at Sidlesham.
Some time between 1851 and 1861, George's father died. In both the 1861 and 1871 censuses, George was living with his widowed mother and working as a carpenter.
In 1875, aged 32, George married a widow named Maria Grant, formerly Prior. She already had three children (two from her first marriage and one from before that). George and Maria stayed at Sidlesham, living in the Mill area. They had three sons together between 1876 and 1881.
George died in 1904, aged 60. Maria outlived him by about fifteen years.
