George Exline was a Lutheran Minister. During the Civil War, he declined a Commission tendered by Gov. Norton of Indiana in recognition of his services in recruiting Indiana regiments in 1861-2. He later served as Chaplin with Ge. Sherman. He removed to Van Wert, Ohio then to Kandiyohi County, Minnesota and later to Bunkerhill, Kansas. While residing in Bunkerhill, Kansas he was County Treasurer of Russell County, Kansas. |
