George DENNISTOUN was b. 22may1806 at Cardross, Dunbartonshire (IGI) and d. 1849 (Latter day saints). George married Margaret Helen WALLIS, daughter of Henry Wallis and left a son James Wallis Dennistoun (b. 1839) RN officer (Genealogical and heraldic dictionary of landed gentry, 1862). George married Margaret WALLIS (b. 1810/1816 Cork, Ireland), daughter of Henry Wallis (b. abt 1770 Cork, Ireland) and Helen McCall (b. abt 1769 Braehead, Glasgow). George and Margaret had a son James Wallis Dennistoun who married Caroline Joanna Gore-Booth (A. Duncan). James Wallis Dennistoun (12dec1839 Glasgow-2nov1908 Helensburgh) (V. Boulos, rootsweb).

Margaret Wallis had a sister Sarah; Sarah WALLIS (4jul1797 Marysboro, Glanmire, Co. Cork-11jun1877 Strathblane, Stirlingshire) married William SMITH of Carbeth Guthrie (1787-1871) 3feb1829 at Ibroxhill, Govan (A. Duncan). Sarah had a son John; John Guthrie SMITH was b. 1834 at Glasgow and d. 1894 (A.Duncan). John, of Mugdock Castle, Stirlingshire, married Anne Penelope Campbell DENNISTOUN (d. 1883) (Burke's landed gentry, 2001). Anne was daughter of James Robert Dennistoun (son of Robert Dennistoun and Anne Penelope Campbell) and Barbara Wilson Macredie (A. Duncan).
