George C. Crum passed peacefully away at the home of his parents Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock after a lingering illness of over six years.
He was born in Auburn township, Crawford county, December 27, 1889 and departed this life September 5, 1929. He lived practically all his life in Crawford county except about five years in Texas.
He was a kind and industrious citizen and loved by all who knew him.
He leaves to mourn four children Royal, Lucile, Glenn and Mary Jane who reside at the home of their grandparents S. S. Caldwell of Sebastian, Tex., his father, mother, two brothers and two sisters, Clyde of Shelby, Bryan of Auburn Township, Mrs. Everett Pry of near Plymouth and Mrs. Harley Haines of near Shelby and many relatives and friends to mourn his departure.
The funeral will be held at the home of his parents five miles west of Shelby, Saturday afternoon at 2:30. Interment in Oakland cemetery, Shelby. O.

George C. Crum a well known and respected citizen of this community, died at the home of his parents, east of town last Thursday afternoon at four o'clock, after a lingering illness of more than six years.
Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Cloyce Pugh of Shelby. Burial was in Oakland cemetery in that city.
The deceased was born in Auburn twp Dec 27, 1889 and at the time of death was aged 39 years, 8 months and 9 days. He had lived his entire life in this community with the exception of about five years spent in Texas.
He leaves to mourn his departure four children, Royal, Lucile, Glenn and Mary Jane, all of whom reside at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Caldwell at Sabastian, Texas. Also his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Crum; two brohters, Clyde of Shelby and Bryan of his community; and two sisters, Mrs. Everett Pry of near Plymouth and Mrs. Harley Haines of near Shelby.
George was a kindly man and was loved by all who knew him. Early in life he had builded a circle of friend that had endured until the day of his death. He was industrious and honest. In recent years he had suffered the pangs of sickness but at all times was patient and had a smile for everyone. Death came as a welcome messenger to the one who had perhaps suffered more than friends and relatives had realized.
