<tpphoto><id>2044657</id></tpphoto>George Cole and Mabel Lettie nee Brayton Cole married in September of 1900. Their first child Leda Lucille Cole was born Dec. 10, 1904 and Jessie Cole was born about 1906. After their marriage in 1900 they moved to Highmore, South Dakota living there 2 years and then moved to Faulkton, South Dakota. Family Lore: In 1908 George Cole became ill. Exact illness unknown. It was decided to go back to Iowa where they both had family. Having no money, they borrowed money for the train from "some" relative. George Cole was too sick to walk, so he crawled onto the train. I believe that what happened was that it was Chester and Emma Cole, parents of George Cole, that sent the money for them to travel back to Iowa. I found a record of George G. Cole, born 3/25/1881 died 10/12/1908, buried at Oak Hill Cemetary in Estherville, Emmet County, Iowa. Also buried there is Chester Cole born 1843 died 9/17/1922 and Mrs. Chester Cole born 1849 died 6/12/1910.
