The 1871 census entry might be for George Batty. The age and occupation agree closely with those for 1851 and 1861. The birthplace given is not recognizable to this contributor. It would appear that his wife was married previously to someone further north in Yorkshire, or even Durham. A matching marriage record for George and Ann was not found.

Another possible 1871 census for George Batty. But, again, the presence of children over ten years of age makes it suspicious.
