Stricken at the Rotary Club luncheon table, where he was a guest of the organization, along with other former wears of the blue and the gray, G. B. , 88 year old Confederate veteran of this city, died within a few minutes, shortly after noon here Friday, at a room in the Hotel Hoxsey, in which he had been carried. A native of Warren County, where he was born on Feb. 1, 1839, he was reared near Troy, Mo., serving in the Confederate army, and after a few years residence in St. Louis, moved to Mexico in 1869. He was the oldest of nine children, two of whom survive him, his brother, C. M. Null of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Bayless of Los Angeles. Three daughters, Mrs. Georgia Anderson, of Hollywood, Cal., and Mrs. Henry Meyer and Mrs. Field Quisenberry, both of this city, also survive. Funeral services for Garrett Barton Null, one of Mexico's oldest resident, a Confederate veteran, and one of the oldest Masons in the county, will be conducted from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Meyer, 807 North Jefferson street, at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The service will be conducted by the First Church of Christ, Scientist, of this city, of which he was a member, and Mrs. Arthur L. Funk, first reader, in charge of the service. The funeral will be held at the home of his daughters, Mrs. Meyer, his former homestead, at Mr. Null's request, T. L. Marshall will act as chaplain at the Masonic service. The Masonic order will officiate at the funeral service at the Elmwood Cemetery, conducting the interment service. Active pallbearers include members of the Masonic Lodge, the honorary pallbearers will be Confederate veterans. References
