    Miss Ruth Wooldridge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wooldridge of Sharpsville, and Garnet Pumphrey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orval Pumphrey of Sharpsville, were united in marriage by the Rev. Franklin Arthur, Pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church, at the parsonage Saturday afternoon. The bride graduated from Sharpsville high school with the class of 1932 and the groom graduated from the same school a year ago. The family of both formally lived In the Prairie Community. The newlyweds will live with the groom's parents south of Sharpsville. [A newspaper clipping pasted in the diary of Garnet's mother, Maude Worden, with a penciled date 1932.]

Garnet D. Pumphrey Dies; Rites To Be Held Tuesday

    Garnet D. Pumphrey. 59, of 334 N. Independence St., Tipton, was found dead at his home Sunday morning. It was believed he had been dead since 2 a.m. Saturday. He had been ill, suffering with a heart ailment, for 4 ½ years.
    Mr. Pumprey was an retired employee of the Ste!lite Corp. at Kokomo. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
    He was born in Adams County, Indiana. on June 7, 1913, the son of Orville and Maude Worden Pumphrey. He graduated from the Sharpsville High School and while in the school was a member of the basket ball team.
    He also was a member of the Tipton Horseshoe Club.
    Mr. Pumphrey is survived by the widow. Mrs. Norma Retherford Pumphrey, to whom he was married Sept. 8, 1967; two sons, Gary Pumphrey of Indianapolis and Steven Pumphrey of Tipton; two stepsons, Stephen Straley with the U.S. Navy in California and Jefferev Retherford. at home; two step-daughters, Mrs. Karen Applegate of Cicero and Mrs. Dinda Coyle of Kokomo; one sister, Mrs. Lois Hawkins of Indianapolis; two grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Warner Funeral Home in Sharpsville. Rev. Elmore Ryle will officiate and burial will be made in Fairview Cemetery at Tipton.
    Friends may call at the funeral home.
