Garnet M Michaels, 91, a resident at Bethesda Care Center, died Tuesd ay at Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Loudenville to May Emmet and Daisy (Majors) Lilley and att ended Jackson-Burgoon Schools. She married Lovel Thornton Michaels on Mar ch 2, 1931, in Covington, Ky. He died in 1984.

Mrs. Michaels was a farmwife. She was an avid poetry writer and had ma ny of her poems published. She loved to read and play bingo.

She is survived by children Burton Emmet Michaels of Fremont, Richard Doug las Michaels of Ky, John Evan Michaels of Kansas, Lola B Gangw er of rural Burgoon and Nancy Louise Mannor of Fremont; and 14 grandchildr en, 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. In additi on to her husband and parents, she is preceded by a grandson, brothers Cha rles Emmet, Emerald F, Gordon H and Harold R Lilley and sister Edith Ric e.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Engle Funeral Home, Bettsville.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial: Kansas Cemetery.
