Sir Gabriel STOKES, KCSI (1909), ICS (Indian Civil Service), Revenue Sec to Madras Govt 1896, adtg mem of Council 1902, Chief Sec Govt of Madras 1906, was born 7jul1849, educated at Kilkenny College, Armagh R Sch, and Trinity College, Dublin (BA 1871), married 1st 1885, Rebecca Horsfall (d. 1886), daughter of Alfred Horsfall, of Formby, Liverpool. Sir Gabriel married 2nd 1889, May Florence Fuller (d. 15jan1897), daughter of James Franklin Fuller, Glasgnacree, Sneem, Co. Kerry, and died 22oct1920 (Burke's Irish family records).
