BIOGRAPHY: The Life and Times of Samuel Gorton The Founders and the Founding of the Republic Philadelphia 1907 Page 204 Freelove Gorton (Edward 4, Samuel 3, John 2 Samuel 1), b. at Warwick, May 9, 1722, died October 31, 1803, married, April 26, 1744, Dr. Dutee Jerauld, born at Medfield, Mass., March 5, 1723, died at Warwick, July 13, 1813, son of Dr. James and Martha (Dupree) Jerauld. Dr. Dutee Jerauld came from Medfield, Mass., and settled in East Greenwich in 1743, where he resided and practiced medicine, much of his time administering to the sick and wounded soldiers of the war. He was over ninety years of age when he died. His parents were Huguenot refugees. His father was a physician. His daughter married Samuel Pearce, and her son, Honerable Dutee Jerauld Pearce, was an able lawyer, Attorney General of the State, Member of Congress for twelve years.
