Caleb Arnold was for a term of years Clerk of Court of Common Pleas for Kent County, R.I. Many of this branch of the family have changed the spelling of their name to Gerald, but in the Providence and Rhode Island official records it is spelled Jerauld. Her brother, Joseph Arnold, 1755 Cranston RI - 1840 Warwick, was a Lt. With General Washington at Valley Forge, Capt. Recruited a Company of black troops Feb 1780 rec. by George Washington to Congress for and officer in the Army, member of the Cincinnati. Another brother, William Arnold, 1762 - 1841 Apponaug.
