After coming to America, FREDERICK probably resided in Bucks Township, one of 22 townships in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. It seems that all of Frederick's line migrated on to Urbana, Indiana. There are other Maurers in Bucks Township, who had also migrated from Waldgrehweiler. One line, which is listed in WeRelate, is the Johann Nikel Maurer line. There is also Adam, born 1801 in Waldgrehweiler. Also Peter born 1826 in Waldgrehweiler. There must be a "link" somewhere. Anyone have one?

The Frederick Maurer line was one of a number of Waldgrehweiler families who migrated to America. Other related surnames were: Baumbauer, Beamer, Brand, Geibel, Glässer, Hildebrand, Regula, and Schroeder. There have been at least 37 related surnames of people known to have migrated from the tiny villages around Waldgrehweiler, to America!

Bucks Township had a census enumeration of 1,601 people in 2000.

The Maurer family moved to Wabash County, Indiana, as many others from Tuscarawas County had.

Frederick was one of the 18 (or 21?) founders of St. Peter's Church in Urbana. Of the list of 21, 20 of them are related!
