Obit (Indpls. Star): Frederick Eugene Blank 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2004. He was born May 29, 1914 in Marianna, Florida to the late Fred and Margaret Berry Blank. His family moved to the Indianapolis area when he was eight years old, and he lived in Wayne Township for the past 81 years. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1932, where he was president of his senior class. On December 23, 1939, he married Mildred Alice Scott in Scircleville, IN. He worked for Allison Division of General Motors from 1939 until 1979, where he retired from the Engineering Test Department. Mr. Blank was a member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church, and was also active in Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #162 and the Wayne Township Historical Society. He is survived by his wife Mildred Blank; sons Scott (Norma) Blank, Peter (Janet) Blank, Kurt Blank, and Jeffrey (Kathy) Blank; two daughters, Susan (Al) Stout and Carole (Tim) Sparks; son-in-law, Jim Furnas; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters Joyce (Albert) Thompson, Pauline (Joseph) Marquis, Jeanette Siefker, and Olga Jones and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lucia Furnas and his sisters Lucille Hollon, Helen Daily and Margaret Pierson. References
