Taken From the Kinsley Mercury, October 13, 1977: OBITUARY Fred Rosco Randel Fred Rosco Randel, son of Henry Albert Randel and Mary Lydia Mills, was born December 30, 1882, at Corning, Kansas, in Nemaha County and departed this life October 9, 1977, at the Good Samaritan Center, Dodge City, at the advanced age of 94 years. Fred and Judah Elizabeth Dugger were united in marriage on November 10, 1909 and to this union three children were born. She preceded him in death March 31, 1959. He was the eldest of 12 children, all of which preceded him in death. Fred became a member of the Church of Christ at an early age and remained faithful until death. He was one of the finders of the Church of Christ at Lewis. He came to Edwards County with his parents in 1900 and lived and farmed in the Lewis Community throughout his lifetime. He became interested in golf at the age of 70 and played for 19 years at the Kinsley Golf Club. He lived a long full life and enjoyed it to its fullest extent. Fred leaves to mourn his passing two sons and one daughter; Emery of Dodge City; George of Nicoma Park, Okla.; Rozella Lucille Titus, Hobbs, N.M., eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. |
