Wife Martha J. is 28, born Sept 1871, with 5 of 5 children living; and their children are James K. 9 b. Feb 1891; Anna L. 7, b. Jun 1892; Matthew H. 5 b. Jan 1895; Eula (?) 3 b. June 1896; and Nora J. [Inez?] 8 months, b. Oct 1899. Charles (Baterious?) 16, is a farm hand. All born Kentucky, parents same. {ed 105, sheet 13, l. 6}

 In the 1910 census for district 4, Nicholas Co., Kentucky, Frank 'Shanklin' is 53, married once, farmer; with wife Mattie 38; and children James 19; Anna 17; Mathew 15; Eula 13; Inez 9; and Alace 6. All born Kentucky, parents same. {ed 144, sh 8a, p. 88}

 In the 1920 census in Weston, Nicholas Co., Kentucky,  Frank Shankland is 63, born Indiana(?) (mother Indiana, father Kentucky), farmer; wife Mattie is 48 born KY (parents same); children are (Kash?) 28; Matthew 25; Inez 20 and Alice H. 16 -- all single, born KY (father Indiana, mother Kentucky)  Frank McCracken is grandson, age 4, born KY, parents same. Mary Wilson 17, relation 'none' [servant?] {ed 217, sh 3b, p. 232}
 'FW Shankland' is listed as registrar for Nicholas Co. in 1923.
 In the 1930 census for Nicholas Co., there are listings for Frank Shankland 1856, who I believe is living with William D. (1892) and Anna S. Smart 1893 (Frank is listed as her father in index.) Kash 'Shanklin' 1891 is living with wife Grace 1906 and children Orine 1921, Joe F. 1923, and Charles C. 1927.
 There is a Franklin W. Shankland listed in the Kentucky Death Index, with death date 1942 at age 85, in Nicholas Co. There is also a Mattie J. Shankland, death date 1922 age 50.  {Kentucky Death Index 1911-1986, <ukcc.uky.edu>, 8 Feb 2003}
 In the Carlisle Cemetery, there are listings for Frank W. Shankland, Mattie Clay, and Inez Shankland Brannon 1899-1957.
