- ↑ "MOUNT VERNON - Franklin C. Cochren, 54, of Morris Street, Mount Vernon,passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Knox CommunityHospital.
He was born April 17, 1949, in Mount Vernon, the son of John Eugene andVirginia Ada (Bash) Cochren and had been a lifelong resident of MountVernon. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1968 to 1969,and a member of the Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon. He was theowner/operator of Frank C. Cochren Trucking. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Barnett) Cochren; a son, FranklinCochren Jr. of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Lynn Smith of Mount Vernon; twostepsons, Bill (Karen) Betscher of Martinsburg and Don (Melinda)Betscher of Howard; four grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Cody Smith,Shelby Lynn Cochren and Seth Cochren; four stepgrandchildren, JohnBetscher, Casey Betscher, Wesley Betscher and Ben Betscher; twobrothers, Michael Cochren of Thailand and Tim Cochren of Mount Vernon;and four sisters, Pam Schultz of Mount Vernon, Sue Collier andKingsville, Texas, Sandra ÓBrien of Mount Vernon and Candace Cochren ofColumbus. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, ThomasCochren; a sister, Dottie Sue Cochren; and a grandson, Thomas LeeCochren. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-SnyderFuneral Home in Mount Vernon. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at1 p.m. in the Mount Zion Cemetery. Pastor Joe Blevins will officiate. Inlieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frank C.Cochren Memorial Fund, c/o First-Knox National Bank.
