World War I Draft Registration Card says he was of medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair. It says he was self-employed, a manufacturer of chair rounds in Sherburne, VT.

"Frank C. Wardwell died last Friday morning at his home in West Bridgewater after a long illness. He was born in Pittsfield Jan. 3, 1873. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m., in the church at Bridgewater with the Rev. Ralph Krout officiating. Burial was in Hillside cemetery, West Bridgewater (sic). Bearers were Myron Wardwell, Ivon Wardwell, Ralph Davis, Orris Welch, Mr. Monroe and Raymond Phillips. They all were grandsons of Mr. Wardwell. The flowers were many and beautiful. Survivors are: His widow Edith Royce Wardwell; two sons, Fred and Mason Wardwell of West Bridgewater; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Curtis of Montpelier; a brother, Sumner Wardwell of Woodstock; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren." -Vermont Standard, September 20, 1951

"The funeral of Frank C. Wardwell, 78, who died Friday morning at his home after a lingering illness, was held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bridgewater Church the Rev. Ralph Krout officiating. Burial was in South Sherburne Cemetery. Bearers were six grandsons: Myron Wardwell of Rutland, Ivon Wardwell of Charlestown, N.H., Ralph Davis of Proctorsville, Orris Welch of Mendon, Raymond Phillips of West Bridgewater, and Richard Monroe of Montpelier. Mr. Wardwell was born in Pittsfield on Jan. 3, 1873, the son of Mary Crossman Wardwell and Myron H. Wardwell. On January 1, 1896 he married Edith Royce of Plymouth, who survives him. Also surviving are a son, Fred M. of West Bridgewater, a daughter, Mrs. Herman Curtis of Montpelier, and a son Mason of West Bridgewater, who was associated with his father in a wood-working plant which the latter had conducted in West Bridgewater for over 40 years. Other survivors are eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a brother, Sumner of Woodstock." -Vermont Standard, September 27, 1951
