Frank William Goebel

Ellerslie—Frank W. Goebel, 69, of Ellerslie, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 27, 2020.
Born in Mount Savage, MD, on July 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Lucy (Bittinger) Goebel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna May (Elder) Goebel; granddaughter, Emily Kate Goebel; brother-in-law, Jack Gerhard; sisters-in-law, Virginia Goebel and Bonnie Goebel.
Frank was a graduate of Mt. Savage High School, class of 1968. Following high school, Frank began his career at the Times News Paper in Cumberland.
He retired from the newspaper in 2019 after 51 years of service. Frank was an active member of the Calvary Bible Church in Ellerslie, and he enjoyed reading his Bible.
Frank is survived by his children, James A. Goebel and wife, Lori, Karen E. Kinney and husband, Don, Rebecca L. Appel, Sally A. Goebel, Patti A. Goebel; grandchildren, Thomas, Jeramiah, Lucy, Page, Maggie, Meleah, and Will; sister and brothers, Joan Gerhard, Ernie Goebel and wife, Thelma, Charles Goebel, Mike Goebel, and Richard Goebel.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Monday, March 2, 2020, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 1 P.M.
Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
