According to an IGI record, he was the son of Adam Crisman (1822-1868) and Sarah Catherine Hottel (1823-1871).

 In the 1880 census for Adams Co., his brothers Henry, Daniel (D.) and Joseph have married, George is listed with Henry; sister Barbara has married Alonzo Aspey, with sister M. S.; I have not found James or Frank.
 In the 1900 census for Monroe, Alexandria, Marion Co., Indiana, Frank Chrisman is 39, b. Jun 1860 in Indiana (parents Germany) married 4 years, laborer; with wife Martha 33 b. Mar 1867 in Illinois (father Ohio, mother Kentucky), with 1 child living; son Gale is 1 b. Dec 1898 in Indiana.  Ollie Shankland [Martha's sister?] is a boarder, age 33 b.
