Frank had purchased his first 40 acres of property in Riverton Township, Mason County before his marriage to Anna Goosen in 1938. Frank Areklet bought 40 acres of property from his brother John in 1950. Property located to the east of Frank's present farm on S. Stiles Rd. Frank and Anna Areklet purchased another 60 acres on Marrison Rd., Pentwater, MI and later sold that 60 acres. The farm remaining was 80 acres on S. Stiles Rd., Pentwater, MI. Frank Areklet raised potatoes, dairy, hay, corn and a few hogs. Frank was a quite, strong good man. Loved my his son John and wife Anna. (note added Nov. 18, 2007)

Frank B Areklet

Frank B. Areklet, 79, of 7164 S. Stiles Road, Pentwater, died Saturday at Oceana County Medical Care Facility .

He was born Nov. 5, 1908 in West Golden Township and had lived all his life in the area. He was married june 11, 1938 in Grand Rapids to Anna M. Goosen.

He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, 4-H, and North Weare Grange.

Surviving, in additon to his wife, are one son, John F. (and Diane) Areklet of Pentwater, and three grandchildren, Karen, Beth and John R.

The funeral for Mr. Areklet will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the Tate Funeral Home, Hart with the Rev. John Christensen officiating. Burial will be in Hart Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorials may be directed to the Oceana Hospital. Envelopes are available at t he funeral home.
