!PARENTS-NAME-MARRIAGE-DEATH-BURIAL: Stephen A. White, DICTIONNAIRE GENEALOGIQUE DES FAMILLES ACADIENNES; 1636-1714; Moncton, New Brunswick, Centre d'Etudes Acadiennes, 1999, 2 vols.; p. 28; own copy. #(21): !BIRTH-MARRIAGE-CHILD-DEATH: Bona Arsenault, HISTOIRE ET GENEALOGIE DES ACADIENS; 1625-1810; Ottawa, Editions Lemeac, 1978, 6 vols.; p. 832 (Beaubassin); own copy. Born around 1725, Francois married at Beaubassin on 7 Feb 1746 to Anne CYR (widow of Francois CORMIER), daughter of Jean & Francoise MELANSON. BEWARE, there is an Anne CYR (no parents given) married to his older brother Jean-Baptiste. Both have a single child listed, a daughter named Marie-Blanche, in both families being born in 1748. [Coincidence? Mistake?] Francois died around 1759; his widow was at Miquelon in 1767 with a son from her first marriage, Francois CORMIER. Also on p. 2204 (Miquelon): "doubtless" he was the Francois ARSENAULT who was buried at Ristigouche on 19 Sep 1759. His widow was at Miquelon in 1767 with Francois CORMIER, a son from her 1st marriage. !BIRTH-MARRIAGE-CHILD: Bona Arsenault, HISTOIRE ET GENEALOGIE DES ACADIENS; 1625-1810; Ottawa, Editions Lemeac, 1978, 6 vols.; p. 830 (Beaubassin); own copy. Jean-Baptiste ARSENAULT [on father's entry p. 828, born around 1703, listed as the first-born, his parents married around 1700]. Jean married around 1728 to Anne CYR (no parents listed); daughter Marie-Blanche born around 1748 [only child listed]. |
