Charles County Maryland Land Record Liber Z#2, 1744-1753; Page 458. At the request of Francis Wheatley, the following deed was recorded on Mar 23, 1750[/1]. Sep 26, 1750 from Elizabeth Wheatly or Stimton and Benjamin Stimton, both of CC, planters, to Francis Wheatley of CC, planter, for 2000 lbs tobacco, a parcel of land, being part of a tract of land called Charley (Charly), lying on the east side of Zachiah Swamp in CC, containing and laid out for about 15.5 acres. Also, part of another tract of land called Millers Choice, lying in CC, containing and laid out for about 24.5 acres. Signed - Elizabeth (X her mark) Wheatly, Benja (X his mark) Stimton. Wit - Robt Yates, wm Bruce. Mary Wheatley, widow and relict of Francis Wheatley, late of CC, deceased, released her dower. ---- Charles County Maryland Land Record Liber Z#2, 1744-1753; Page 446. Sep 26, 1750 from Francis Wheatly of CC, planter, to William Bowling of CC, planter, for 1000 lbs tobacco, a parcel of land, being part of a tract of land called Charley, lying on the east side of Zachiah Swamp in CC, containing and laid out for about 15.5 acres. Wheatley, Francis Sr. - 19 Oct 1808; 22 Aug 1809 - To son John Wheatly, negro Matilda. - To son Francis Wheatly, negro George (in his possession). - To my 3 grandchildren [of son Francis], the following property, -- To Elizabeth, negro Miley, 1 feather bed and furniture -- To William, negro Abraham -- To Matilda, negro Domenick - To son Raphael Wheatly, negroes, Nace , Harry, old woman Beck. -- To grandson Electius [son of Raphael], negro Harriot. - To my sons and daughters; John, Francis, Raphael, Mary and Catharine Wheatly, negroes Henny and Cate, on condition my daughter Clare Smith shall have the use of Henny during her life, and my daughter Polly Clements, shall have the use of Cate during her life. - To sons Francis and Raphael, all my dwelling plantation divided equally. Raphael to have his moiety on that part where my dwelling house and its contingencies stand, and Francis to have his moiety to include his present residence. - Item: son Francis, the benefit of 1/3 of the fruit of my orchard duing his life, likewise daughter Catharine during her single life an equal interest with son Raphael in all that part of my land dwelling house of which I have willed to him. - Item: as I conceive that my daughter Mary is not capable of taking care of herself, I require my son Raphael and daughter Catharine to take particular care of her and to serve her with all necessary attention, and it is with this condition, that I have willed them what is herein bequeath them. - To daughter Catharine, negroes, Lizzy or Elizabeth, Celia and Jacob. Also 2 milch cows, 4 ewes, and 1 feather bed and furniture.
