  14. ↑ from Bill Goss: "She was my favorite aunt. I visited her in May of 2001in Portland, Oregon, and we both visited Ray's daughter in Corvallis.Frances was 87 and very spry. She was tall and slender and verysoft-spoken and gracious. She offered me the family bible at breakfastone morning when we were discussing family history. I said I onlyneeded the information from it and she said she might not be around allthat long. I said I hoped she was wrong and reminded her that mymother, her older sister, was still around at 91. Then in early Augustwe were both in my home town for my mother's passing. Ray called me inJanuary from Portland and said Frances was not doing well. I talkedwith her briefly and said I would check in again the next week. Raycalled me before that week was up and she was gone."

She received a master's degree from Reed College and was ateacher in Portland Public Schools at Vestal and Multnomah schools,retiring in 1975. She then worked at Sears. Survivors include herbrother, Raymond; nieces; and nephews. No service. Remembrances to theAmerican Cancer Society, Oregon division. Arrangements by Skyline."-found in The Oregonian
