Known as 'Dan' 1881-Not found on UK census; most likely already marriedand in America. All children born in the USA, including a 4th child, Tom, who died of appendicitis when he was 5. Not sure where he fits in the birth order. 1901-living in Aspatria, Cumberland. Possibly comes up as 'Fanney Pearson aged 45' on census, but need to check household listings. No occupation. Emigrated to Cape Town with John, Mary, Sally+Christopher and Bill in 1910/11 on passenger liner Athlone Castle. Dan, Dats and "Uncle Bills" lived at 52 St Augustyn Street where they raised their grandson Francis John (Frank) from the age of 5.
