 BENDER
 Floyd C. Bender, 84, Meyersdale RD 1, died July 11, 1984, in Meyersdale
 Community Hospital.  Born Sept. 25, 1899, in Elk Lick Township, a son of
 the late Christian W. and Ida (Hershberger) Bender.  Survived by his widow,
 Anna (Maust) Bender.  Also survived by these children: Phillip F.,
 Grantsville RD 1, Md., James S., and Mary Elizabeth, wife of Leslie Byler,
 Kalona, Iowa; Paul E., Accident, Md.; Naomi, wife of Paul Yoder, and Miss
 Dorcas Bender, both of Meyersdale RD 1; Sara, wife of Daniel Miller of
 Lancaster; and Louise, wife of Ernest Mullet, of Greenwood, Del.; 34
 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren.  The brother of Harvey, Bittinger,
 Md.; Myra Maust, and Berda Beechy, both of Salisbury; Della Miller, Fannie
 Zook, both of Grantsville, Md.  Member of the Oakdale Mennonite Church.  A
 volunteer worker for the Mennonite Disaster Service and Retarded Children's
 Association.  A member of the Penn Alps Association, Laurel Highlands
 Association, Springs Historical Society and the Springs Folk Festival.
 Friends will be received at the Leckemby Funeral Home, Thursday from 2-4
 and 7-9 p.m., then will be taken to the Maple Glen Mennonite Church near
 Grantsville, Md. Friday to lie in state from noon to 2 p.m., the time of
 service with Pastor Elam Bender and Pastor Alvin Swartz officiating.
 Interment, Oakdale Cemetery.
