'The one I remember about your mother and grandmother was when they were in Michigan visiting one summer. I stayed home from church with your grandmother to help her get dinner ready for the family. When everybody was ready to eat, your mother found out that your grandmother forgot to put bananas in the banana cream pie and your mother really lit into her in front of every one. Your grandmother wouldn't eat and she went for a walk; so I didn't eat and went for a walk with her. It took a long time for me to forgive your mother.

I think about that event many ,many times over the years and to this day I have a lot of trouble putting up with anyone belittling someone over anything.'
