Her original date of birth was given as 11 Jul 1881.An alternate date of birth is under investigation. So far there is no record of this date for Florence, although it is her commonly accepted date of birth.An entry on the 1901 census suggests that 13 Jul 1882 would be her birth date...which corresponds with memories that family has of celebrating her eightieth birthday prior to her death in 1962. After Robert H. died, Florence stayed with Bob and Belle Shiell. Her granddaughter Muriel recalls feeling much closer to her grandmother than to her mother because it was usually Grandma who was in the house doing housework with the girls while Belle was usually out helping Bob do the farm work.
