    William B. Deardorff, 73, a retired carpenter, was found dead in the yard at his home in Bendersville by a neighbor this morning at 10 o'clock.
    Death was attributed to a heart attack by Dr. Raymond F. Oyler, Biglerville. The deceased had been in ill health two years and had been picking berries before his body was found.
    He was born at Mummasburg, a son of the late Samuel and Annie (Wentz) Deardorff. For the last 17 years he resided in Bendersville. He was a member of the Bendersville Lutheran church, the Bendersville lodge of the I.O.O.F., the P.O.S. of A. of Arendtsville, and the Knights of Pythias of Arendtsville.
    Surviving are his widow, Ella Eicholtz Deardorff; two sons, Cletus C., Lexington, Kentucky, and Leslie M., Hagerstown, Md.; four grand-children; four sisters, Mrs. Flora Carbaugh, Biglerville; Mrs. Minnie Houck, Mummasburg; Mrs. John Bittinger, Arendtsville, and Mrs. Rose Hoffman, Illinois, and one brother, Samuel Deardorff, address unknown.
    Funeral announcements will be announced later.

    Samuel Deardroff, 85, Passes Away At Home Of His Daughter In Arendtsville

    Samuel Deardorff, retired farmer and native of Adams county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John. H. Bittinger, Arendtsville, at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, of the infirmities of age. He was 85 years of age.
    Surviving are four sons and three daughters:
    William B. Deardorff, Bendersville; Mrs. Flora Carbaugh, Wommelsdorf; Mrs. John Bittinger, Arendtsville; Mrs. Charles Houck, Mummasburg; Charles D. Deardorff, Dixon, Illinois; Samuel C. Deardorff, Chehalis, Washington, and Mrs. Sherman Hoffman, Vanpetten, Illinois.
    Two brothers, J.W. Deardorff, Kansas City, Kansas; Dr. Benjamin F. Deardorff, Kentonia, Nebraska; one sister, Miss Jennie Deardorff, Beverly Hills, California; nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
    Funeral services at the Bittinger home Friday morning at 10 o'clock, the Rev. George B. Ely, pastor of Flohr's Lutheran Church, of which the deceased was a member for forty years, officiating. Interment at Flohr's Cemetery.

    has an article about a car crash involving Raymond's car at Hagertown. A man died when the car he was in crashed in the Carbaugh family's car which was parked outside the high school. Flora B. and M. Janet Carbaugh were with him at the time but no one was in it at the time of the crash. The back end of the car was totally demolished.

    Word has been recieved here of the death of Charles Denton Deardorff, 59, a native of Adams county, in the Rockford Hospital, Rockford, Illinois, Sunday, January 5. Death was due to pneumonia which followed an operation.
    The deceased moved from Adams county to Illinois thirty-seven years ago and in 1901 was married to Miss Lulu Kreager. Besides his wife he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Oscar Cramer, Mrs. Oscar Gardner, Miss Virginia Deardorff and Miss Lois Deardorff, all of Dixon, Illinois. The following brothers and sisters also survive: William Deardorff, Mrs. Flora Carbaugh, Mrs. Charles Houck and Mrs. John Bittinger, all of Adams county; Samuel Deardorff, of Chehalis, Washington; Mrs. Rosie Hoffman, of Sterling, Illinois.
    Funeral services were held from the home Wednesday with further services from the Bethel church, the Rev. Mr. Gordon officiating. Interment was made in the Dixon cemetery.

    Mr. Deardorff, who left Adams county in 1901, is survived by a son, Dee, Los Angeles, Calif., and four sisters, Mrs. Flora Carbaugh, Arendtsville; Mrs. Mary Bittinger, New Oxford; Mrs. Minnie Houck, Biglerville, and Mrs. Rosie Hoffman, Sterling, Ill.
    The deceased was preceded in death by his wife a number of years ago.

    R.L. CARBAUGH, BARBER, DIES
    Raymond L. Carbaugh, 54, Biglerville Barber, died suddenly at his home in Biglerville this morning at 1o'clock from a heart attack.
    He had been in his usual health Wednesday but became ill about midnight. A physician was summoned but he expired a short time later.
    The deceased was born in Adams county, a son of the late McMillan F. Carbaugh, and Mrs Flora Deardorff Carbaugh, who resided with him. Mr Carbaugh graduated from Gettysburg college in 1914 and had been a barber since 1916. He was a member of the Biglerville Reformed church. His wife, the former Bessie Chronister, died November 10, 1934.
    Surviving in addition to his mother is one daughter, Mrs. Victor Schlieder, Manchester, Vt., and one brother, the Rev. Lee O. Carbaugh, Harrisburg, Va.
    Funeral arrangements will be announced later."
