Obituary

Faye Elizabeth Meese, 87, of New Philadelphia, died with her family at her side on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late James and Helen (Reymond) Carlisle, Faye was born May 26, 1924, at Beitler (Goshen), Ohio.

Faye was a 1942 graduate of Midvale High School. Following graduation, she married John William Meese who was killed in action on January 31, 1945, while serving in France during World War II. She then married Robert Nelson Meese who also preceded her in death on January 30, 1977.

She devoted her life to her family and they will always remember her as a loving, caring, and generous mom, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially caring for her yard and garden.

Surviving are her children, William (Madge) Meese and Bobbie (David) Rimer both of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Lori Brown of Pataskala, Ohio, Benjamin (Tracy) Rimer and Robyn (Brett) Porter both of New Philadelphia; her great grandchildren, Lindsey (Jon) Carle of Delaware, Ohio, Geoffrey and Stephanie Sims both of Newark, Ohio, Kyle Stewart, Stacey Stewart and Jessica Brown all of Pataskala, Ohio and Nolan Porter, Justin Rimer and Olivia Rimer all of New Philadelphia and two great great grandchildren, Payton Dingess and Hailey Carle.

Completing the family are her siblings, James (Janice) Carlisle of Brightwood, June Crites of Gnadenhutten, Joe (Helen) Carlisle of Sherrodsville, Dan Carlisle, Wanda (Ed) Golder and Margie (Don) Levengood all of New Philadelphia and Linda (Bob) Edie of Pataskala, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; a granddaughter, Melanie Sims; a sister, Dorothy Hibbs and a brother, Tom Carlisle.

In keeping with Faye's wishes, visitation and services will be private and burial will take place in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
