Samuel H. Janney plaintiff against Stephen L. Howison & others defendants (In Chancery) The plaintiff by his counsel filed his bill and the defendants Stephen L. Howison & Mary Jane his wife, Fanny Ann Jackson, John S. Jackson, Lucetta Jackson, Eliva Jackson, George Jackson & Nancy Maria Jackson not having entered their appearance and given security according to the act of assembly and the rules of this Court & it appearing by satisfactory evidence that they are not Inhabitants of this Commonwealth. It is ordered that the said defendants do appear here on the first day of July court next and answer the bill of the plaintiff & that a copy of this order be forthwith inserted in some newspaper published in the Town of Warrenton for two months successively and posted at the front door of the Court House of this County.


Stephen L. Howison had been earlier appointed guardian for the younger children. Fanny and John S. were old enough not to need a guardian.
