Mrs. Fannie Austin Fish Hess, 86, widow of Fred P. Hess and a life-long resident of Lowville, died Sunday morning in Ogdensburg after an illness of several years.
Funeral services were held from the Virkler funeral home in Lowville Tuesday afternoon at 2, Rev. Roger F. Williams, pastor of the First Methodist church of Lowville officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Lowville Rural cemetery in the spring.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. William (Mary) Bradish of Lowville; one son, A. J. Fish of Cedar Falls, Ia.; and a brother, Charles E. Austin, Carthage.
Mrs. Hess was born Aug. 10, 1864 in the town of Turn, the daughter of Sylvester and Mary Goodale Austin. She was married March 4, 1883, to Edward J. Fish of Lowville, who died Sept. 27, 1917.
Six years later she was married to Fred P. Hess, Lowville, Sept. 15, 1923. Mr. Hess died April 15, 1936.
Since the death of Mr. Hess she had been living with her son-in-law and daughter until her illness.
