Ezra Artemas Newton, son of Ezra and Mary (Carr) Newton was born Marsh 23, 1817 in Wayne Co. PA.

He died while on a business trip to Waukesha Wisc. Jun 24, 1778. Burial at Ripon, Wisc.

He married at Carbondale, PA on Oct 10, 1841 to Ruth Ann Wilbur of Jeremiah and Lydia (Frisbee) Wilbur. She was born Apr 16, 1824.

Ezra Newton lived in various places: first at Carbondale, PA where he taught school and married, then he moved to Wisconsion, before 1858 living in Ripon, Spring Grove and Monrow, Wisconsin. He then moved to Freeport Ill, and last to Denver Colorado in 1871, where he settled. Like his immediate predecessors, he was engaged in the lumber business - manufacturing at Oskosh, and Fond- Du - Lac, Wis.

Ruth Ann (Wilbur) Newton remained in Denver after his death, living with her son Whitney Newton. She lived to celebrate her 90th birthday with an informal tea party and reception in her honor.
